Foggy Day Schedule
Our foggy day schedule for the 2023-24 school year is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of our students during adverse weather conditions and to provide a structured and secure environment for our schools. This schedule will remain in place until further notice.
If weather conditions necessitate that the district calls a foggy day, the district will notify parents via Parent Square as well as TV Channels 18, 24, 26, 30, and 47. Parents can also call the district's Foggy Day Line at 559-898-6530.
New Foggy Day Schedule
Foggy days are called on a district-wide basis by our Transportation Director. Due to the geography of Selma Unified, not all areas in the district have the same density of fog. Therefore, while it may or may not be foggy in one area, the decision to delay bus transportation is made in the best interests of students district-wide.
- All school gates will open at 7:30 a.m. for students to arrive or be dropped off by parents. Students being transported by school buses will arrive when conditions permit their safe transport. Information concerning district transportation will be provided via Parent Square and local television channels.
- All school classrooms will open at 8:30 a.m. and staff will be available to students at this time.
- Classroom instruction will begin at 9:30 a.m.
- The time between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. will be used for educational support activities such as tutoring, intervention, enrichment, drop-in assistance for students from individual teachers, etc.
