Mrs. Marie Bustinza

was born and raised in Selma. She attended Garfield Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Abraham Lincoln Middle School, and Selma High. She attended the Smittcamp Family Honors College at Fresno State where she received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology. She worked for the Fresno County Workforce Investment Board in the Youth Services Division, Character Counts!, and the Roosevelt After School Program as the Coordinator before receiving her teaching credential from Chapman University. She taught 6th grade at Eric White Elementary for 4 years before becoming a Reading Intervention teacher at Roosevelt (5 year and counting) and obtaining her Masters of Arts degree in Teaching and Learning at Brandman University. Mrs. Bustinza also will be coaching basketball and softball, History Day Coach, and is the school site Technology Specialist. 

Mrs. Bustinza is married with 3 children and 3 dogs. She enjoy reading, cooking, and traveling. Her favorite part about her job is seeing the growth students make during reading groups. Each of her students understand and set their own goals, so reaching them has a big impact on the students and their motivation to grow!
