ALMS RECOGNIZES STUDENTS FOR ACADEMIC, BEHAVIOR AND ATTENDANCE THROUGH OUR STUDENT OF THE MONTH LUNCHEONS, AND ACADEMIC AWARDS CEREMONIES.
STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Students are chosen by their classroom teachers for special recognition based on the "trait of the month". Recognized students and their parents are invited to attend a luncheon in their honor.
HONOR ROLL REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for honor roll a student must obtain a “B” average or better for one semester. All grades will be averaged. Grades will have the following equivalents: A=4; B=3; C=2; D=1. Grade point equivalents are added, and then the total points are divided by the number of classes to determine the average. The following grades disqualify a student for honor roll for the semester in which the grades are received: D, NG, Inc., or F.
Principals Honor Roll 3.80 – 4.00 G.P.A.
A Honor Roll 3.50 – 3.79 G.P.A.
B Honor Roll 3.00 – 3.49 G.P.A.
In 8th Grade, students may qualify for the Principal’s Medallion as the highest academic award given to 8th grade students. To qualify, students can only receive 2 ‘B’s’ (total) during their 7th and 8th grade school years.
Students with perfect attendance each semester are recognized at the Academic Awards Ceremonies as well as a special lunchtime activity.
