Mr. Guillermo Lopez
My educational background begins teaching at the community college level with recent high school graduates in 2006, to working at the sites as a counselor and as a site administrator. I was previously employed by the Oxnard Union High School District for the past twelve years, most recently as an Associate Principal at Pacifica High School and prior as a Dean of Student Accountability for the Hueneme and Oxnard High School communities.
My experience in teaching, counseling, and as a site administrator have allowed me to be multifaceted educational leader as I have a clear vision and understanding of what the expectations are for students when they reach high school. I understand the importance of the state’s shift to Common Core, new science standards, LCAP state priorities aligned federally through the Every Student Success Act. The Career and Technical Education along with 21st Century link learning programs are key, and I strongly support serving all students and providing additional help educationally disadvantaged students succeed. One key piece is its ability to provide professional development supportive of student achievement and promote parent education and involvement.
